For the Pelaez family, that journey began in 1962 when Pedro Pelaez Sr. had to leave his successful boat-building business in Cuba and decided to escape communism to the United States in search of freedom and opportunity. What he carried with him couldn’t be packed in a suitcase; it was a lifetime of craftsmanship, determination, and an unwavering belief in hard work.

Seventeen years later, in a small Miami workshop, those values turned into a new company: Paneltronics . Alongside his sons, Pedro Jr. and Raul , and later his daughter Anif , Pedro Sr. built more than just a business; he created a legacy rooted in family, precision, quality, and pride in craftsmanship.The mission was simple, yet bold: to design and manufacture the finest electrical control panels. Each call, each handshake, and each meticulously wired panel laid the foundation for what would soon become a brand synonymous with quality, trust, and American craftsmanship.

By 1985, that dedication had caught the attention of Inc. Magazine, which recognized Paneltronics as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

But success never changed the company’s compass. As markets evolved, so did Paneltronics, expanding from marine to transportation, including motorcoach buses, construction, military, entire fleets of mail trucks, US naval ships’ rack-mount units, Fire Trucks, and many more; yet never losing sight of its founding principles.

Today, more than 45 years later, the same core values that shaped Paneltronics from the start continue to guide every design, every panel, and every customer relationship.
